The Home and Community-based Services (HCS) program provides individualized services and supports to people with intellectual disabilities who are living with their families, in their own homes or in other community settings, such as a small group home where no more than four people live.
There are 3 primary living options in HCS:
Foster Care or Host Family – this option would allow an individual over the age of 18 to remain in his/her family home. The Foster Care Provider can be the biological parent or an experienced provider that would provide for all the individuals daily needs, in return the Foster Care provider would be employed by AIM HIGH and receive financial compensation.
Supported Home Living – this option would serve individuals under the age of 18 who live in their parents home or an individual who lives independently in the community. In this situation AIM HIGH would provide a Supported Home Living worker who would come into the home and assist the individual with any services needed.
Residential/Group Home – this option would serve individuals who want to live in a small group home with 3 to 4 persons of like abilities.
